SCHOOL DISTRICT PROFESSIONAL LIAISONS

WHO?

Nine (9) trustees representing the five (5) disciplines of CAHPERD and the areas of Business/Finance, Law and Medicine and one (1) at-large representative shall be appointed by the Administrative Committee of CAHPERD, with the approval of the CAHPERD Board of Directors for staggered three-year terms.  The discipline and at-large trustees shall be members of CAHPERD. Those currently serving are Jan Seaman, Chair, Kathy Cordes, Vice-Chair, Karen M. Johnson, Secretary-Treasurer, Bob Flavin, Ed Greaves, Barbara Harris, Patricia Harvey, Rick Johnson, Toni Marich and Freddie Thompson-Esters. Members of the CAHPERD Administrative Committee serve as ex-officio, non-voting members.

WHAT?

  • The Foundation exists to develop future and young professionals, support continuing education, enable public relations, contribute to lifestyle management and promote scholarship. This mission will be accomplished through the activities stated below.

  • The Foundation shall solicit and receive by gift, devise or otherwise, monies and property, real and personal, to be held, managed and used for projects and activities of CAHPERD. These activities shall include but not be limited to:

    1. Providing scholarships for students and young professionals

    2. Writing grants for professional development and continuing education programs

    3. Awarding grants for research, professional development, program development, public relations and lifestyle management

    4. Conducting fund-development events and activities

    5. Providing funds to supplement activities of the Divisions of CAHPERD and advance its mission.

WHEN?

The Trustees meet at least three times a year in January, in March at the CAHPERD Conference and in July.
