CAHPERD STANDING COMMITTEES
OFFICE COMMITTEE
WHO?
The Office Committee is composed of three members appointed by
the President for three-year terms. One of the committee
members shall be appointed by the President to serve as Chair for
a one-year term. It is highly advisable to select Committee
members who live in close proximity to the state office.
WHAT?

To have general responsibility for the overall organization
and functioning of the CAHPERD office, for initiating and coordinating
the evaluation procedure of the Executive Director, for developing
personnel policies, and for making recommendations to the President,
Board of Directors and the Treasurer.

More specifically:

To assist the Executive Director in understanding
and carrying out the responsibilities and functions, including
those specified in the job description of the Executive Director.

To study, and in consultation with the Executive
Director, make recommendations for changes in the job descriptions
of the Executive Director and other office personnel.

To work closely with the Executive Director
to implement the most efficient and effective functioning
of the CAHPERD office.

In consultation with the Office Committee, the
Executive Director shall be responsible for hiring, retention,
termination of employment, salaries, fringe benefits, vacations,
office hours, calendar and other working conditions of the
office personnel, and make these recommendations to the Administrative
Committee and Board of Directors.

To study, evaluate and make recommendations
to the Administrative Committee and Board of Directors regarding
hiring, retention, termination of employment, salaries, fringe
benefits, vacations, office hours, calendar and other working
conditions of the Executive Director.

To act as the liaison intermediary between Association
employees and the Board of Directors, when needed.

To act as a resource group for the President
or other officers on matters relating to CAHPERD office operations.

The Office Committee meets as needed and corresponds between meetings
