Association Award Descriptons:
Verne Landreth Award
Must be a member of CAHPERD and exemplifies the highest achievement in service, research, teaching, or administration and exhibits outstanding leadership in their profession. Must be 40 years of age or over, a member of CAHPERD for ten or more years, and a former Honor Award recipient.
Honor Award
Must be a member of CAHPERD and have ten or more years of service in school, college, or community programs. The candidate must be 35 years of age or older and exemplifies the spirit of devoted service to the profession. Has made an outstanding and noteworthy contribution to the advancement of health, physical education, recreation or dance in California.
Phyllis A. Blatz Exemplary Leadership Award
Must have fifteen (15) or more years of service to CAHPERD. Leadership at all levels, including local, regional, district and state, and currently holds collaboration with affiliated groups. Service may include all elected, appointed and/or staff positions. Candidates have provided leadership in a variety of capacities. Such meritorious leadership has enhanced the viability of said program or service and or has strengthen the credibility of the Association.
