Ann Rector
VP, Health Education

Ann received her Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences from CSU Long Beach in 1989. She taught middle school health for 10 years for Long Beach Unified School District and has since been a Teacher on Special Assignment working on Health Curriculum for Long Beach Unified School District. Ann served on the 2005 Health Education Instructional Materials Advisory Panel (textbook adoption), and on the 2006 California Health Education Standards Advisory Panel. In addition to her work for Long Beach Unified School District, Ann also is a part-time lecturer in the Health Science Department for CSU Long Beach.

Ann also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Management (Univ. of LaVerne) and is a nationally Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).

DESCRIPTION & MISSION

The purpose of the Health Education Division is to:

Promote Health Education in schools, colleges, universities, and the community.
Assist in the development of special programs, workshops, conferences, and research projects in the field of Health.
Evaluate and disseminate appropriate health information through mass media such as the press, radio, and television.
Provide accurate health information for the CAHPERD Journal and other professional publications.
Assist units, regions and districts of CAHPERD with other health agencies and organizations having similar purposes.
