Executive Director of A World Fit For Kids!

Normandie is an International speaker and trainer who has extensive experience as a facilitator for schools, corporations, sports teams, fitness professionals, community organizations and inter-generational groups, but her greatest love is working with kids and the adults who influence them.  Her primary focus is training inner city teens to coach and mentor younger kids and training the adults who work with them.  Normandie is trained as a Personal Development Consultant by Anthony Robbins & Associates and has been providing fitness and personal development training for inner-city youth since 1986. She is the founder of the fitness consulting company, Fit For Success, and has been the Executive Director of the non-profit physical activity and training organization, A World Fit For Kids! since 1994.

A World Fit For Kids! was recently presented the Gold Medal award for the outstanding organization from the California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports "for positively impacting the physical activity, fitness and well-being of California's children and youth." Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger presented the award in a ceremony on September 18, 2007.

DESCRIPTION & MISSION

The purpose of the Recreation Division is to:

  • Promote the quality of life through Recreation and Leisure Education.
  • Promote the highest standards of the recreation profession that are consistent with the aims and purposes of the Association.
  • Select and disseminate accurate information concerning all phases of recreation.
  • Assist the various CAHPERD districts, regions and units to improve their planning procedures, operational techniques and interests, with a view to improving their quality of service and general effectiveness.
  • Promote good public relations in the field of recreation, in cooperation with other committees of the Association.
  • Coordinate the recreation activities in CAHPERD with other recreation agencies and organizations which have common interests and purposes.
