Health Education Content Standards

New California Health Education Standards Approved

After months of development and refinement, the new California Health Education Standards have been adopted by the California State Board of Education.  They were officially approved on Wednesday, March 12th and met the legislative mandate to have them completed by March 2008.

CAHPERD members have been very involved in the creation of these new standards and have been intensively working to secure adoption by the Board of Education.  Without doubt, these new Health Standards will be important in addressing the myriad of health issues that our students face in today’s world.

Congratulations to all of you who worked to develop and strengthen these important new instructional standards.
