Description & Mission

Purpose

The purpose of the CAHPERD Middle School Section is to support and assist lifelong learning in all areas related to HPERD.

• Lead and support the implementation of quality programs in cooperation with the Vice Presidents from HPERD Divisions, through in-service education, summer workshops, curriculum materials and consultant services.
  
• Support the implementation of state and federal regulations and guidelines.
  
• Provide statewide leadership at the Middle School level.

Mission

The mission of the CAHPERD Middle School Section is to lead, support, and assist middle school specialists to provide the highest quality health education, physical education, recreation and dance programs for all middle school students in California. Such programs will maximize student skill development and cultivate a desire to lead an active, healthy, and productive lifestyle.
