CEUs were available at the conference.  In order to receive CEUs you had to sign up by November 10th. If you did not sign up, we're sorry but CSU, Long Beach does not allow signing up after the fact.

Keynote Speakers

Martin Block is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Virginia where he teaches courses in adapted physical education. He is the author of over 75 peer-reviewed articles, 20 chapters in books, and 5 books on adapted physical education and including A Teachers’ Guide to Including Students with Disabilities in General Physical Education. Professor Block is the Editor of the Journal Palaestra, he is President of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA), and he is past-president of the National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPEID).



Alex Montoya is an award-winning author, speaker, and life coach.  His diverse career has included time with the San Diego Padres organization, San Diego Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, appearing in two major-motion films, and carrying the Olympic Torch in 1996.  In 2015, he founded his own business, A-MOtivational Communications, which produces inspirational books and talks, and guides students on their college essays. Alex holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame and the University of San Francisco. Alex’s message is about overcoming obstacles to succeed in business, education, and community service. Drawing on his experiences as a triple amputee from birth, Alex blends emotion and humor into his presentations. He has authored four books: Swinging for the Fences (2008), The Finish Line (2012) See the Good (2016), Wolfpack (2017).

Meals
Two meals were included for those who ordered tickets on their registration form. Thursday night Taco bar Welcome Reception and Friday Keynote Luncheon.

Onsite Registration

On-Site fees for this three day event were as follows:

  • Professional CAHPERD Member -$280.00
  • Professional Non-CAHPERD Member - $340.00
  • Retired CAHPERD Member - $110.00
  • Student CAHPERD Member - $105.00 (Students who have already paid their $20 membership fee and provided documentation of 12+ units.)
  • Student Non-CAHPERD Member -  $125.00    (includes a 1 year Future Professional/Student membership in CAHPERD) Students must provide provide proof of 12+ units (transcript, unofficial transcript, or course schedule, etc. that shows the course name and the number of units each course is worth)
  • Speakers - $120.00 (must send in pre-registration form, not available for online registration)
