Martin Block is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Virginia where he teaches courses in adapted physical education. He is the author of over 75 peer-reviewed articles, 20 chapters in books, and 5 books on adapted physical education and including A Teachers’ Guide to Including Students with Disabilities in General Physical Education. Professor Block is the Editor of the Journal Palaestra, he is President of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA), and he is past-president of the National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPEID).
Alex Montoya is an award-winning author, speaker, and life coach. His diverse career has included time with the San Diego Padres organization, San Diego Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, appearing in two major-motion films, and carrying the Olympic Torch in 1996. In 2015, he founded his own business, A-MOtivational Communications, which produces inspirational books and talks, and guides students on their college essays. Alex holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame and the University of San Francisco. Alex’s message is about overcoming obstacles to succeed in business, education, and community service. Drawing on his experiences as a triple amputee from birth, Alex blends emotion and humor into his presentations. He has authored four books: Swinging for the Fences (2008), The Finish Line (2012) See the Good (2016), Wolfpack (2017).

Pre-registration fees for this three day event are as follows:
- Professional CAHPERD Member -$220.00
- Professional Non-CAHPERD Member - $280.00
- Retired CAHPERD Member - $110.00
- Student CAHPERD Member - $105.00 (Students who have already paid their $20 membership fee and provided documentation of 12+ units.)
If you would like to become a CAHPERD member, memberships are available for professionals for $89. Please log into your account to renew or join now if you aren't yet a member.
- Student Non-CAHPERD Member - $125.00 (includes a 1 year Future Professional/Student membership in CAHPERD) Students must provide provide proof of 12+ units (transcript, unoffcial transcript, or course schedule, etc. that shows the course name and the number of units each course is worth)
You may pre-register online (with a credit card) by logging into your CAHPERD account or creating a new account if you do not have one. If you will be paying by Purchase Order or Check, please print and mail in the pre-registration form.
SHAPE or other state HPERD member attendees wishing to register at the member rate, must submit a registration form by mail, fax or email. (Online registration will default to the non-member rate.)
Prices increase on 10/23/18. Professional Members and non-members price will increase by $60. Students and retired members price will increase by $10. Pre-registrations will NOT be accepted after 10/23/18 (not online or by mail, fax or email). If you've missed the pre-registration deadline, we still welcome you to the conference, we won't turn anyone away! Please arrive and register at the conference registration booth.
